it's personally amusing to me that it took me the second time looking at this to realize that the trees were decorated with grain lines, and that real trees would have bark patterns instead.

These trees, often plagued by forest rot, shed their bark every <season it is right now>, exposing a long-weathered grain of wood.

Also, I like the color. :)
